 A.  PEMAKAIAN

Past Perfect Tense di gunakan untuk menerangkan kegiatan atau peristiwa yang telah terjadi pada waktu lampau

B.  STRUKTUR KALIMAT

Dalam menyusun kalimat Past Perfect Tense, kita harus menggunakan had atau kata kerja III (Past Participle)

Subject+had+VerbIII+object

Example:

I had cleaned the house before lunch yesterday

They had visited paris by the end of the month

The sun had risen before I woke up

After we had read, we went to bed

The rain had stopped when I left

Charles said that he had seen a ghost

Tom said that he had met Mr.Robbin

Laura said that she had written a poem

When I had finished the book, I put it down

The film had already started when we entered the cinema

The meeting had already started when Thomas entered the room

They reached the village before we had returned

Paul had combed his hair when he came to breakfast

I thought you had finished your homework

He thought you had gone to the beach

Michael would have won the match if he had played better

If anything had happened, John would have telephoned

If janet had taken a taxi last night, she wouldn’t have got wet

I wished I had bought the car

She wished she had taken her umbrella

Kalimat Majemuk dan kalimat pengandaian dalam Past perfect tense bisa di gabung dengan kalimat past tense atau future past perfect tense
